Chadwick students in Lancashire Youth Challenge

By 21st September 2026 No Comments

Two Chadwick students took part in the Lancashire Youth Challenge run over the last 9 months.

To highlight some of the skills they have learned the students took part in a demonstration of their boxing skills.

MP’s Cat Smith and Lizzie Collinge and the leader of the Council Caroline Jackson where present and even participated in some padwork.

The students were referred to LYC in January to join the RESTORE:EFC programme which combines non-contact boxing with psychologically informed wellbeing principles, empowering young people to better understand their minds and build confidence, resilience and emotional awareness.
Their engagement, dedication and personal development over the past 9 months has been amazing and they have attended on a weekly basis, even over the summer holidays. We have seen them grow in confidence and self esteem, better express their thoughts and feelings and build positive connections with other young people as well as develop a sense of personal achievement and success.
This partnership project, funded by Active Lancashire and Sports England and delivered in partnership with Lancashire County Council, Lancaster City Council. Lancaster and Morecambe Family Hubs and the Children and Family well being service, has picked up interest from local MP’s Lizzi Collinge and Cat Smith along with the Leader of the Council, who would love to  meet some of the young people who have been involved and talk to them about the impact it has had on their lives.

Hopefully projects like this will continue to be funded giving all young people in Lancaster and Morecambe opportunities to be engaged in positive activities.
