The DfE education record app allows pupils to access their education information in a digital education record.
What an education record is
The Department for Education (DfE) creates an education record for every year 11 pupil with information given to the DfE by schools and awarding organisations. An education record contains:
- pupil name, date of birth and address
- schools they have attended
- official exam results for qualifications like GCSEs
- support needs
All of this information will be in each pupil’s education record when they get it.
How the app will benefit pupils
Pupils can use the app to make application to and enrolment at sixth form, college or a training provider quicker and easier. It allows them to share information digitally rather than on paper.
Role of the School
The schools role is to vouch for the identity of pupils so they can access their education record.
The pupils will then be able to access their education record on their current mobile phone.
Once you have the app downloaded you can then take your phone to one of the following staff to have your identity confirmed; Andrew Murray, Deb Gudojc, Lee Roberts or Val Manwaring.
