Compassion Project – Refugee Visit

By 9th October 2026 No Comments
This week GCSE Citizenship classes had a visit from Viktoriia Murych who delivers the Compassion Project for Lancashire County Council. The project aims to raise awareness of the difference between refugees, migrates and asylum seekers. Viktoriia, herself a refugee from Ukraine, shared her experiences of leaving her home with just a small bag to seek refugee status and how she has found working and living in the UK and her hope to return to Ukraine once the war is over. Year 10 students represented the school very well, asking insightful questions and engaging in all tasks.
Well done Year 10s.
